I strongly suggest taking the little guy to obedience classes. What he is exhibiting is normal puppy behavior, dominance, he wants to be the alpha(leader) in the pack and you a follower, this is natural. What he needs to be taught is that you are the alpha and he the follower. Being he could live to be 15 or 16 years old, investing in training classes are well worth it.
