Hello all,
I just wanted to introduce Brooklyn's new baby sister Kymmi. She's been a joy since I adopted her a couple of weeks ago. She's an 11 week old shih tzu/maltese. Brooklyn had a hard time adjusting at first and even regressed with housebreaking and sleeping through the night. She had loose bowels and everything. I took them both to the vet just in case the new baby had brought something to Brooklyn. Both are perfectly healthy, they were just stressed. Poop is back to nice little tootsie rolls and everyone is sleeping through the night.
Their personalities are very different. Brooklyn is hyper and independent and only likes to cuddle when she doesn't have anything better to do. Kymmi is a total lap baby. Kymmi is also a piggy and for my sanity I could NOT continue to allow her to free feed. She was eating like a small horse and pooping 20 times a day. I changed her over to Wellness puppy food and put her on a feeding schedule and she is much better and has more predictable poops.
Brooklyn has finally accepted her and it's a hoot watching them play together.
