My daughter Hillary was not as lucky. She was born 4 months premature at just under a pound and for the first 24 hours she breathed on her own, but had to be intubated as she was losing weight just by breathing. She lived 13 days and taught the doctors so much. She was too small for the iv's and they had to move them often. Most of the tests they wanted to run on her they could not due to her size.
Her NICU nurse Trish called me almost a year later to tell me a little boy had lived because of what they learned from her. She was at Children's Hospital in Boston Ma.
I do believe she was not here for me and even though her life was short she fulfilled her mission in teaching the doctors how to help the tiny's make it.
She would be 24 years old now and not a day goes by that I don't think of her and what she would be like today.

That is such and inspiration to hear that.. I am so sorry for your loss. I know my granddaughter is our miracle girl. She lost weight also when she was born.. she got down to just a pound.. I thank God for the wonderful doctors in Springfield Illinois that never gave up.. and all the prayers.. they have really learned alot from the years ago your daughter was born.
