Well I am glad I kept chickening out! Do they sell the scissors at Petsmart? I thought 5 months sounded good but do you do the "hygienic" trim yourself then? Maybe Lucy's hair grows super fast or something. I like her hair on her body the way it is, but I wasn't sure if the other things needed to be done sooner than her first haircut.
