I know that separation anxiety is hard to cope with.
Leaving the house and coming back in a little wile is a nice way to let him know that you are not leaving for a long time. You can do that when you go shopping or when you are taking the garbage out. Go out and again in the house without making a big fuss about it. Gradually he will learn to feel safe. Don't feel sorry when you go out, he can sense that. Just act casual and be patience.
You need to make him independent and not more attached to you.
