I can only speak for blue chihuahuas. It is wrong that blue colour is fine for chihuahuas. Blue chihuahuas are often naked, the fur often falls out when they are grow. The skin is different from normal coloured chihuahuas. No reputable breeder wants blues in his chihuahuas.
I don´t know if it is the same in great danes.
