As stated above no matter what they are going to chew something, they are like babies sticking everything in their mouths, I went through this recently with my almost 14wk old. She would chew our socks, shoes, wires, end tables, etc...you name it, she chewed it. So we started putting our shoes in a different room, taped our cords up on the wall so she couldn't get them, and sprayed 'Bitter YUCK' on the end tables. She now only chews her toys and occasionally she will nibble a toe and that's when we pick her up set her to the side and give her a toy.

About the trash put it up also...Silver would get anything out and tear it up so we put it to where she can't get it.

She also does the door darting. We haven't got her to fully stop doing it so we stick her on the other side of the baby gate so she can't escape when we are trying to leave. She has the hallway and the bathroom open to her and that way while we're gone we don't have to worry about her getting into stuff she shouldn't be in.

Best of luck to you!!
