Have you tried the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America? They have listings of breeders in all of the states. Here is the link: http://www.ytca.org/breeder_referral.html I am also in CT. Where in CT are you? I will also be looking for a new puppy next year. I don't have much to spend either but I know it will have to be more than $500, especially for a girl, which is what I want.
