this is so sad my 16 year old sister had to do a report on a "safety issue" and she choose pets in cars for the second part of the report she had to find a solution so she made a car seat out of a plastic milk crate for gatsby (and has made one for every family dog but our grandmothers sheltie and our aunts 98 pound american bulldog.
it is cheap sometimes free if you have some stuff laying around and our vet said he likes it better then some commercial car-seats on the market because it is hard and has multiple ways to safely put the seat belt through
if anyone is interested in how to do this let me know and ill send you step by step instructions on how to make one.
