 Traveling with your Yorkies
It has taken me a while to to post this because everytime I think of the incident it makes me very emotional. I am posting in hopes making others aware of the importance of using restaints, ie (crates, travel seats) when traveling with your babies.
I was in formed by one of my puppy parents, they were traveling home after the Thanksgiving holiday when they were involved in a terrible car crash. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest. In the vehicle was Mom, Dad, young daughter and a 6 month old yorkie boy.
The young daughter was in her car seat and by the Grace of God came out of the accident with a couple of scratches. The father had minor injuries. The mothers legs somehow during the rolling of the vehicle went outside her window and was pinned under the vehicle when it came to rest. The mother is still healing. Her legs were spared but she will have to go through months of physical therapy. The puppy, my Desi, died in the crash... |
