Oh and i forgot to add a realllllllly funny story, or at least i found it to be hilarious-
We had Denali at Petsmart one day and were just walking around when some lady walks by carrying this tiny little thing that had just been groomed. She stopped by us and asked what breed of dog Denali was. I smiled and told her that Denali was a yorkie. This lady looks at me and goes "that is a yorkie? He can't be pure bred. He is HUGE and looks nothing like a yorkie." I don't even know how to describe the expression that was on my face because as this lady was talking i realized that she herself was too holding a yorkie, except her yorkie could not have weighed more than two pounds, looked very sickly, not in the least bit happy, and had the thinnest wiriest looking hair I've ever seen. I was shocked because this lady was clearly delirious! I looked at her and said "My dog is very much so a pure bred yorkie and he is not huge in the least bit, in fact, the standard says that a yorkie should be between 4 and 7lbs so those tiny sickly puppies that puppy mills like to breed and sell to people are further from the standard than my yorkie. My dog is happy and healthy and i would rather have him than any of those sick tiny pups." And then i walked away. I could not believe that this woman was holding a yorkie in her arms and could not even tell that my Denali was a yorkie. I am assuming that it must be because people have been brainwashed that only dogs under 3lbs can be considered pure bred. This lady made me so mad i wanted so bad to be like oh my what is that you are holding? That can't possibly be a dog, it barely has any hair and is so tiny? It must be hamster or something right? But i couldn't stand to talk to this lady any longer and she really wasn't worth it. |
