I noted that you are feeding Acana. While many, many people have had great success with it and I believe it is a great product, it did not work for Maximo. Unlike any other food I have had him on, Max inhaled the Acana. Every other kibble brand he takes his time and munches. He ended up having trouble eliminating, he reduced his water intake, and his coat and skin dried out.

Several people told me that dogs' teeth are not intended to chew kibble like a human would crackers. They said it didn't matter that he was swallowing the kibble whole. That may be the case, but he does much better on other brands.

I know you have gone through the trials and tribulations of switching foods, but this might be something else to consider. On the one hand, trying another kibble to see if it would slow down the eating might be beneficial. On the other hand, it might add another variable that would make solving your problems difficult. As Woogie Man wrote, it is all about eliminating variables to pinpoint the problem.

What brands of kibble were your pups eating before you did the raw diet? Did they inhale their kibble then?
