Two years ago on Thanksgiving Day afternoon, she saw two dogs cut through our yard (outside her fenced yard) and she went running out into her yard like a jet. She must have turned wrong. That's what the dr told me happened. I didn't see it happen, because I had not turned the corner from the house. She's always way ahead of me. She tore her right rear knee tendons completely in two! She had surgery and was incognito for eight long weeks! But she's as good as new now!
That sent shivers down my spine. Thank goodness she recovered from that. You must have been a wreck! I recently had the boys on 30 foot leashes running full speed when Maximo dropped and yelped. He did this scary thing where it looked like he was dragging his body and bobbing back and forth. I almost passed out because I have read about incidents like this. Thankfully he was back to walking in minutes and we had a scheduled vet appointment for annual checkup. Everything was fine, he just hit the rough terrain the wrong way with his leg.

Having Yorkies has made me understand my overprotective mother a lot better.
