I've read that if a dog has a silky coat, the eyes will reflect green or blue in photos. With a cottony coat, supposedly they flash red. I know my Chloe has a silky coat and her eyes are always bright green in photos if I use the flash. Another possibilty is that maybe just by random chance, the same dog is never looking directly at the camera when you take the picture?
