PS..you realize any AKC dog you co-own, you are equally responsible for what the co-owner does...seen a few breeders lose AKC privileges over the years when one owner played dirty. |
Yes, I understand the liabilities of co-owning. I will try your suggestion of the club rules next time, I think I never expected such a response from someone after telling them I didn't think this was the best time for them to get a puppy, and it took me by surprise and I wasn't sure how to respond "politely". In all honesty, I'm sure she'd love the little guy like crazy, but I'm not sure she was in a position to provide care for him and I stressed finding him a loving home that could properly care for him was more important than the money, granted recouping some costs is important, can't pretend that it isn't, but it's not the whole picture. -- I think she tried hard to prove to me she'd provide a loving home but threw out her "studding" "plan" for the money. Though they might very well be great studs, that wasn't my plan and I think it's a little early to decide that. I am impressed with their conformation, the vet's positive response to their structure and overall health, etc., but I really don't plan to get into all that with someone else with a co-ownership thing, certainly not someone inexperienced like her, extra especially with someone I don't know. Jeez, the more I think about it the weirder it all seems.
I guess this could have been a post in the 'strangest things you've heard' from a potential buyer !!!
"Hey give me your high quality puppy and I'll stud him out and we can split the money, hey I know you don't know me, but that's not the issue I want a free Yorkie, he'll fill that void in me after i had to leave my other Yorkie with my parents because my dad liked him!!!"
Okay, off to think of other things!!! Kendra
