I started mine out at the groomer as soon as they were done with their vaccines- at the beginning they didn't get a full grooming but I thought it was good for them to get used to it- she would bathe them, brush them, clip their nails and do a sanitary cut, etc. However, I did find a groomer that let me stay at the beginning until I finally felt comfortable leaving them. After awhile I found they behaved better when they couldn't see me and by then I had built a trust with the groomer so I knew she was going to treat them well. I still only drop them off for a few hours, they get groomed and come home as soon as they are done. She has to do both my dogs and she usually only has them about 2.5 hours or so.
