Puppies shouldn't go to grooming salons, dog parks, pet stores, etc. until they have finished all their vaccinations plus two weeks for full immunity.

If Gizmo has completed his vaccinations, it should be safe to take him. Start small, though, so it is a positive experience. Many people bathe puppies at home, then take them to the groomer's in the beginning. Try to work out the tangles yourself with a little Cowboy Magic and a comb. Then you can just have the groomer trim his paws, do a sanitary cut and maybe trim his face if Gizmo will tolerate it. Less is more when it comes to those first grooming experiences. A bad experience early on can traumatize him and make him difficult to groom from then on.
