There are several things that come to mind...
-someone suggested leaving their little one so they are able to look out the window while you gone.
-have you tried walking out for a short period of time and then come back in over and over? What I mean is walk out the door and literally come back in, in seconds. Keep doing this until you build up time while "going out". I tend to forget things so I wind up coming back in several times, it gets to a point that my 2 will just go about their business because they think that I'm just going into the laundry room (leading to garage to go out) for a few seconds. Each time I come back in they are further and futher away from the door.
-do you leave a radio or tv on for her while you are away? I had heard that you could put a ticking clock beside their crate at night to mimic a mother's heartbeat. We did that with Hot Rod, can't say if it worked or not but it can't hurt.
You've gotten some good suggestions with the snuggle puppy and putting the crate beside your bed.
Good luck. |
