You may be able to get the sedated xrays done locally and then send them off to the specialist for a consult. Might ask to see if that is an option anyway. That way when you do make the trip to see him, he already has the xrays and you don't have to worry about having a sedated pup recovering on a 2 hour drive home. Just an idea.
With Grade 3 I am glad you are going with a specialist. My Jack Russell has LP in both rear legs which she has NEVER had a problem with. If she ever does develop a problem with the rear ones, I will be in your shoes, seeking an orthopedic consult. I discovered it from taking her in on a recurring front leg limp, and they did the sedated xray. Nothing wrong with the front ones. But they also found a place where her vertebrae were a bit close (partially flattened disk) on her neck and that is probably what caused her front leg limp. |
