Here's a possibility....and something that happened to me with one of my dogs. Had retained teeth removed....however, as the pup got older I noticed bad breath....something none of my previous pups had encountered after retained teeth had been removed. Took her to the vet and explained the horrible breath......He took her to the back and was back within 2minutes....she had a capped molar.....cap removed, no more bad breath

And no, Yorkies are not known for breath......however, if the yorkie is proned to tarter, this will definately contribute to bad breath..
