There isn't anything more frustrating and sadder to lose a newborn puppy because he has fought so hard to be born (usually a breech birth) and he can not get those first few precious breaths plus he is wet and gets cold very fast.
Plus you can be so busy with the Mom with another puppy coming and you do not have enough hands---And even the little ones doing Ok but are just wet can chill really fast.
