I've been spending the last two years talking to my mentor after we quickly became friends because we feel the same about Yorkies and breeding. She is a very reputable breeder and I'm honored that she believes that I'll be a good breeder. Well, she is finally trusting me with a stud! I'm getting him in a month or so - he is being imported from Germany.
I have a quick question though: how is raising a stud different from a neutered boy? Are there any special considerations, except for belly bands (marking), special care for their family jewels
when it comes to heat & cold, etc. Are there any special tips or advice on raising a great stud? Also, I read somewhere that if you discourage the male from humping a female, he will be hesitant to do so in the future... I have a spayed female at home and I'm wondering how I should handle their interactions?
