I don't know if the berry shampoo is considered deep cleansing or not, it does a satisfactory job cleaning though with one just one application. Unless you've got a lot of other hair product on the coat, like hair spray, a wrapping oil or some substance that doesn't wash out easily, one application of any shampoo should do the job. Be careful washing too much, you can cause a dry coat by washing away too much of their natural oils.
You can make a detangling spray by watering down any hair conditioner. Just use a small amount of hair conditioner in a spray bottle, fill it with water and shake. Or, Crown Royal makes a very light detangling spray that I like.
You can also use corn starch to help get out mats. Sprinkle a little cornstarch on the mat, work it through with your fingers and then brush or comb out. Do this on dry hair only though.
