Little Bean has stomach/trechea issues? PLEASE HELP! My fiance and I have a 4mth old yorkie. We got him from a lady I groom for. She sells puppies from all over the US. I know you should always go through a breeder etc. But this little guy got into my heart. He was sold to a couple who threw him on their porch with only a food and water bowl and a blanket. They pawned him off to another family who also neglected him. They gave him back to the couple who first bought him. At this point he was sick. They gave him back to the woman I got him from. At the time he was only 2.3lbs. I don't know how he's survived all this. He's so full of love and is just the cutest little guy. She gave him to us to try and work with. At first we thought it was a collapsing trachea. He was on meds and seemed to be ok for the first week he was on them. He ran out and started vomiting. His stools/activity level where still normal but I really started to worry. We tried the cough syrup dm with no luck. She took him to his vet Sat and he was on an IV all day and into the night. They have done xrays and can't tell if it has anything to do with his trechea or just a stomach virus due to neglect. Bean is back home with us now and I have him on soft food. He also gets ingected 2x a day with an antibiotic and gets a narcotic 2x a day to help calm him and keep him comfortable. We also give him a defibulator 2x a day for 10min a day. He seems to be doing butter but not taking in much liquids. He's a tiny little guy, still under 3lbs. We're taking him back in for a check up Thurs. I am willing to do whatever it takes to save him and give him the life he deserves. I am doing all the vet has told me but was hoping for some suggestions for a little extra help. I've been feeding him every 2hrs and gave him some baby cereal/food with a syringe to get a little more fluids. I know I am a spaz but everytime I hear his coughing or hacking it breaks my heart. Thank you for any suggestions! |
