dematting is very uncomfortable for the dog and a lot of groomers will not do it for the sake of the dog. Also, yorkies are usually small and quite wiggly on the tables which makes it more difficult to demat. The easiest thing to do for the dog is to give them a "smoothie" and start over again.
I also noticed that your yorkie has a cotton coat and they are harder to maintain. My yorkie is the same way as yours so I just keep her short most of the time. its a lot of work to keep a cotton coated yorkie in a longer cut. You need to make sure you are getting a fine tooth comb through every part of her body all the way down to the skin. a lot of people "brush and comb" every but don't realize that they are only brushing the top coat and not going all the way through to the skin.
