Solvit Booster Seat Review Wanted to share my experience with this seat with you. It's a very basic item - metal frame covered with faux leather, lined with sheepskin-type fabric, which is removable for washing. Mine is the medium size and Tallulah weighs about 4.5 pounds now. I've included a photo showing how T looks in the seat. It's actually a little roomier than the photo shows but I would probably move up a size if she weighed more than 8 or so lb.
It's easily installed - one strap goes over the headrest, and the other goes around the backrest midway between the headrest and the seat. You do need a car with a split backrest for this. Not recommended to put in the front passenger seat unless you can disable the airbag.
There is a nice heavyweight clip for attaching to the dog's harness. It's on a long enough and heavy enough strap to let Tallulah have freedom to move around in the seat without risking her getting out.
What I particularly like about this seat is that she can see all around her while sitting up, and there's plenty of room for her to lie down and take a nap. Over the Thanksgiving weekend we made the trip to Yuma and back (4 hours going, 6 hours returning) with no problem.
I was so happy with the seat - both functionality and price - that I bought a second one for my niece, who is Tallulah's chauffeur and babysitter after Yorkie Camp because I can't make it home from work in time to pick her up. |
