I don't really keep in touch with Layla's breeder. I have tried. I've sent pictures and updates and would just get a "Oh she is beautiful" answer, but nothing more. She never tried to contact me at any point.
When Layla was paralyzed with her disk disease I did get in contact again, to let the breeder know that she has a genetic disorder. I wasn't looking for money or anything, just to give her the information because, obviously, it should be a big deal to the breeder. I definitely wasn't looking for what she said to me... that she was very sorry but she would give me a 7 year old recently-retired breeding dog to replace Layla! I have not contacted her again, and I will not.
