I am sorry to hear about Gilmore. Pixie had her LP surgery in June and she was on crate confinement for 6 weeks. I never thought I would survive it. I had a kiss e collar from Mom to Hot Rod for her. They are soft and so much less stressful for them. I found Pixie never bothered with her stitches so I didn't need to use it very long. I also had a few different set ups for her so she wouldn't get bored. I bought a small animal expen (she isn't a jumper) and if I was in the kitchen I set it up there for her, then I would set it up on the bed so she could lay on the bed during the day if I was home. I also bought a play yard and kept her in that at night. It was impossible to keep her 100 % still but you do the best you can. She did great and was released to normal activity after 6 weeks. I know how stressful it is but hopefully Gilmore will settle in to a new routine for his recuperation.
