I completely agree. I'm not going to "support" someone just because that is what they want to hear if I don't think they are acting on what they want rather than the best interest of the dog. IMO, if you have no real detailed knowledge of the dogs' medical backgrounds, are inexperienced in breeding and it is still early in the pregnancy, then it is in the best interest of the DOG to have an emergency spay performed. It's risky enough when you ARE experienced and is NOT something you should just 'pick up as you go.'

If you decided to proceed otherwise, then your best option is to find an experienced breeding in your area to assist you throughout the pregnancy and whelp. As Mary mentioned, checking with local breed clubs is a great place to start to find one. Also, develop a good relationship with your vet.
Research and discuss with your vet needed dietary changes and supplements that are needed at various stages. Start arranging to be able to be home, off work, etc for an extended time both as the whelp date nears and afterwards when the pups have been whelped. It will be a while before they and mom can be left unsupervised for extended amounts of time. Get a list of whelping supplies and start getting them in order.
