I litter trained my Scoobers he just ate potty pads and I wasn't about to spend a couple hundred on a fake grass system. A regular cat litter box with corn litter. Later I found he was allergic to corn so we went back to potty pads in the litter box he went into the bathroom to do his business later he outgrew the box and went outside and now we have a large yard for him to use and he's over his issue with rain anyways.
Just a note dogs that use grass, litter boxes, etc don't leave the pooh in there! Remove it immediately and flush it-they won't go in the same spot if they will risk getting pooh on their feet a clumping litter is nice also I really recommended the corn litter and would have loved to have kept using it...
