LOL, I have asked the same question many times.

I don't have any advice, but I hope Smokey's problem clears up soon. Passing the gas is a good thing, so I don't think you need to worry too much that he is suffering, especially if he has normal stools. It's when they can't pass the gas that it is a serious problem.
