I'm sorry for your losses and that you are having a tough time. I must disagree with you husband though. I have a 6 month old yorkie who goes in the crate when we leave the house. I also have a 2 year old morkie that guards the crate when we are away. Cooper will sit right beside Max, making sure everything is ok. When I arrive home, Max is in his crate so excited to see me, so I think. But when I open the crate it's Cooper that he runs to!

I agree with Lillymae also. Perhaps Belle can choose a friend. Maybe you would also feel better with a larger size yorkie. Mine are both 10 pounds. You already know that Belle would feel less alone with a sibling. Go for it, as you sound like a really caring mom and could provide a loving home.
