Default My heart is so very sad

My Gilmore who is my 10 month old shih tzu was running on Sunday and all of a sudden he was screaming and holding his leg up. Thanks to forums like these I was thinking it was a luxiating patella. He seemed to be able to walk it off eventually. The next day he was just walking and it happened again. The screaming in pain was horrible. I swear it made me physically sick watching him suffer. We went to the vet who put him on anti inflammatory meds and a pain killer and told me to crate rest him for 10 days. She said she thought it was a luxiating patella and wanted to do sedated xrays today. It happened again twice yesterday and I can't bear to watch him suffer so we took him to the animal hospital. The doctor we saw basically said all they would do is keep him comfortable till today so if we could do the same to take him home and bring him in today to talk to a surgeon.

I am so sad and I can't stop crying. I never wanted a second dog. I was very happy with Skittles my 4 year old Yorkie Poo. My husband and daughter begged me for years. I never in my wildest dreams imagined how over the moon attached I would be to him.
