No, the way it's designed it's pretty much impossible for them to get out of it, unless they are in the wrong size. Or if they grow opposable thumbs and take it off themselves!
I also like it bc they way it sits on them, if you have a charging dog running at you, you can just pick them up by the leash, it will not move up to choke them. Check ebay, you can find some for a little less. I got mine from ebay used with a matching leash (even though I use a Flexi) and if i remember correctly i paid only $28.
