I know you're looking for a hard side carrier but have you checked out the cellteis? They're great. It's more of a stiff fabric side carrier but they're nicely shaped, come in a variety of shapes and are excellent quality. I'd gotten one for another dog but it came back to me and it's perfect for Tabby. Downside is they're a little pricey.
