I figured out what you were saying! I've seen that happen before. I don't know why it does that though.

Hopefully someone can suggest something. Are you sure you can't just kind of feather it out until it grows out enough to fit in the topknot? Perhaps you could send a message to Gemy and see if she has any suggestions for you.
