Bring puppy pads with you for bathroom breaks. You can take them in the restroom or on the side and put them down for him (instead of having to leave and then go back through security).

I'd also bring some Nutrical if you don't think he'll eat during the trip (some dogs don't) to keep his blood sugar up. I'd also advise a collapsible or small drinking bowl.

Other than that, health certificate just in case (you don't usually need it, but if they happen to ask and you don't have one they can stop you from flying), harness/leash/tags, toys for keeping him occupied, etc. The usual basics

Oh and a blanket to keep him warm in the carrier, some planes can be drafty if you're near a vent!

Good luck! Let us know how AirTran goes. I thought about flying Rylie home on them, but wasn't familiar so I went with Southwest instead!
