My dog Daisy has MVD along with a lot of other problems. I consulted by phone with the vet nutritionist Dr Remillard at Angell in Boston after my Daiisy could no longer tolerate the hill's L/D diet. Our blood work has gone from horrible at postprandial bile acids over 100 to normal and it's because of Dr Remillard.

This is not to disparage other options but few can match Dr Remillard in terms of education and experience and she sees many sick dogs and many sick yorkies. Her consult fee currently is $95 and a diet formulation is about $60. She does not sell supplements and has no stake in the supplement market.

I have used her for all 3 dogs but the most dramatic results have been for Daisy. She also helped me when barney almost died from pancreatitis after eating a can of dog food. Personally, I want a licensed veterinarian to advise on my dogs and when it comes to a specialty like nutrition, I want a board certified professional.
