I think most people are referring to a xpen or exercise pen which you can buy at a pet store like petsmart. They come in 3 different sizes I think. And yes, you would put a pee pad in there for them, & a crate is up to you. Plus, lots of toys to keep them busy!
Food & water would probably be optional, on how long you will be gone. Hope this helps!
