I volunteered at two local rescues and got my Scoober from rescue after looking at several many (felt like hundreds)-if you didn't fill out and application we didn't bother to respond to you or answer any questions until we pre-screened and decided if talking to you was a waste of time. Many rescues now charge an application fee I don't love this practice, but its common place here also-usually it's about $10- consider it a donation. But I've always wondered I had to interview and fill out applications with about 10 rescues before I found my Scoobers, and huh that's $100 at least in fees just to find out basic questions about dogs...just because its common doesn't make it a good idea, but the fill out an app. first well its a given in my experiences
