Since I used to have cats, I have had a fake tree for years -- it was not as attractive a target nor as toxic as a real tree was. I'm not taking any chances this year -- the tree will go up but I will put unbreakable ornaments on the bottom AND put a fence around it for good measure.
I have always been a SERIOUS Christmas decorator - villages, nativity scene, you name it - from floor to ceiling. In fact a friend who didn't know about my habit walked into my house one time and blurted out "My G*d! It looks like Santa Claus threw up in here!" This year I'm going to limit the decorations to the area above Yorkie level. T is a chewer -- and I don't want to risk her getting harmed by chewing on something potentially dangerous. |
