[QUOTE=hunniebunnie]initially got that wooden gate you have in the video, but the way that it's built, it assumes a leveled surface on both sides of the door way, and my baseboards actually stick out creating a doorway with an uneven surface, so back to petsmart it went.

That was the problem with our old gate. The rubber bumper things were too low and hit the baseboard and then the ones at the top wouldn't hit the door jam....so we were sliding it back and forth...not to mention you had to block it to keep it in place....and between we and the cats climbing/jumping over...sometimes it fell. Any way I don't remember the name of the one I got....I'm thinking it's parents magazine, but it has adjustable little wheel bumpers on the sides. I got it at Target. Like a screws with a round bumper on the ends. You can extend it or not as necessary. I didn't even have to do mine uneven cause the bumper thing is actually placed ABOVE the baseboard. It also comes with wooden extensions, in case your doorway is too wide. And it closes automatically if you don't shut it manually. Trace can only get through one place....the end that swings open....it's just a smidge larger than the others and he has to do quite a bit of manuvering too...he doesn't just slip through....he's gotta tilt his head and wiggle his body through. If he has a sweater on, it slides off him during this trick, so it's a squeeze to say the least. Trust me, he thinks it out. I'm gonna get hubby to place a dowel inside that opening to make it smaller.
Good luck containing your pup, they learn to be quite the escape artists
