Default Rest In Peace Jack

We buried my son’s dog, Jack (Rat Terrier), this morning right next to my Yorkie, Jon Jon, who was killed last year in July. It’s so hard for all us going through it again. Jack was in an oxygen cage for 24 hours for 5 days in the animal emergency hospital. My son and his wife thought we should let Jack go because his condition got worse and did not wish him to suffer anymore. Jack was put to sleep last night. My son rescued Jack in June 2005. We are not sure how old Jack was. The pound put down 4 years old at his information card on the cage when my son picked him up so we guessed he was about 10 years old. When my son went to the pound, Jack was one of the few dogs there and he looked so lonely in the big cage. Jack was afraid to make eye contact with my son and looked so sad. My son looked at his information card and it was Jack’s last day at the pound. My son asked if he could take Jack out of his cage and they said he could. Jack was so happy to hear the gate open and ran around like a wild man! They become inseparable ever since. I wish Jack could have spent more time with us on earth. I feel so privileged and proud to have had Jack in my life as my grand-dog. I will miss him every day as I do with my dog Jon Jon.
