Default Weight loss question

I have been trying to get some weight off Pixie and Roxie for awhile now. I switched them all to a weight management kibble (except Nikki) and started counting out the number of pieces they get. I gradually reduced the amount they get. I switched them to weight management biscuits and cheerios for treats. Pixie has lost 1/2 lb in the past 5 months and Roxie 4 ounces. Pixie could still lose another 3-4 ounces and Roxie another 8 ounces. Cali maintains a good weight on more food than they get. So I guess dogs are like people some can eat more and not gain while other eat less and still gain weight. Pixie is always begging for food. My question is Do they adjust to the reduced amount of food or will she always be hungry? I have never dieted myself so I really don't know. I feel guilty every time I go eat something. With winter here they get even less exercise and Pixie has always had a very low activity level anyway. Thanks
