Some get car sick and some don't. My lil Muffin, as a puppy, got car sick. She outgrew it though and loved, loved, loved to travel.
Your puppy will be fine. I would just make sure not to feed him within a couple of hours of starting the trip. I'm sure he'll need to eat during the trip; I just wouldn't start it out that way.
