Check with your vet and make sure they do pre-op blood work. Our vet chooses to send them home with pain meds. Not all vets do blood work and pain meds. I hope yours does.
Recovery time for my two was only a day or so. My youngest had just turned one year and she was her old self by the evening of the surgery. Good luck to you and your little one. She will be fine. I tend to think it is harder on us than them. Try to stay calm about it when taking her in. She is likely to pick up on your anxiety and you don't want her to feel anxious from that. Telling you to relax is much easier said than it was for me to do, but it will be alright.
When you schedule your apt. your vet should give you directions to follow the day before, day of, and days after. I went in with a list, literally, of questions I wanted to ask.
