Hmmm.....when my wife and I have gone out of town without the kids, our oldest Houston, goes into a funk after about three days. He will stop eating and just mope around (that's when the care takers break out the wet food--or chicken and rice....he'll always eat those).

Not sure about the skiddish behavior though....Houston is always elated when we return.....you might have to "treat" him back to being more social.

i.e. call him, treat, comes to you, treat, etc. Wish I had more to offer, sorry.
