We had a foster with the same issue. Toys were only allowed when supervised (just killed me because our little Piper just loves her toys). Unfortunately, we never got over the issue with him...but he was adopted to a home as an only furkid so he is in heaven now and spoiled rotten.
I would recommend getting with a trainer asap.
