And this is the main reason why I think we are so besotted with these little creatures. Whether they will never grow to be larger then infants or toddlers. They are our babies that will never grow up. They will forever depend on us for absolutely everything. They will never begin to pull away from us and start to assert their independence and rather be with their friends, etc... We love them for their need for us and the fact that they so readily show it. Whether we've had skinkids or not, we've never gotten this particular kind of love before. Skinkids grow up, pull away and leave. These babies will not. They will always look at us with that undying, unconditional love. We get that from no one and nothing else. How can you not respond to that and nearly cry when you reflect back at it?
