Some dogs are just naturally skinny, you don't want to get them to be fat or overweight. A lean dog is better than a fat dog. But since he is so young still, I definitely wouldn't worry about over-feeding. Do you free feed? I always free fed Jackson and still sort of do at 2yrs old. I always put 1/2 cup of Orijen or Acana kibble into his bowl every day so he has food available if necessary but he pretty much never eats all day long so I put whatever was remaining in the bowl mixed with wet food for his dinner. Oh, and he gets raw food 3x a week for breakfast so on those days he is fed twice a day. He's 15lbs, btw. But like I said, for a puppy, I would just free feed or feed 3x a day.
